Unions Unite to Demand BC Ferries Be Built in British Columbia
Last year, when BC Ferries announced plans to build new ferries in China, our union joined forces with 14 other unions to advocate for shipbuilding jobs and demand that the next generation of ferries be built right here in British Columbia.
Today, more than 15 unions are united behind one message: Build them here.
The coalition is launching a campaign to pressure BC Ferries and the BC government to keep future ferry construction and good jobs in British Columbia. Premier David Eby has committed to ensuring the next round of vessels is built in B.C., and unions are calling on the government and BC Ferries to follow through on that commitment.
