Menzies Cargo Members Ratify Strong Two-Year Collective Agreement
IAM members at Menzies Cargo have ratified a strong two-year Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) delivering significant wage increases, improved benefits and enhanced workplace protections.
The agreement provides an immediate 6% wage increase, ranging from $1.25 to $1.51 per hour, with the average wage increase over the two-year agreement reaching 13%.
Members will also receive a $500 signing bonus for full-time employees and $275 for part-time employees.
Other key improvements include:
1) $1.00-per-hour forklift premium for Warehouse Leads.
2) Improved allocation of paid medical leave and sick days.
3) Electronic payroll-error payments within 3–4 business days when the error is legitimate.
4) Improved pay when temporarily transferred to a higher-paid position.
5) Increased quantities of uniform pants and shirts.
6) Improved shift-trade language.
7) Strengthened seniority language.
8) Improved layoff language.
9) Improved language regarding the removal of disciplinary records from employees’ files.
The two-year agreement also means members will have the opportunity to return to the bargaining table in just 18 months, allowing the IAM to continue building on these gains.
This agreement represents a significant step forward for Menzies Cargo members, with meaningful improvements to wages, benefits and working conditions.
