Hobart Service Members Ratify New Three-Year Collective Agreement
IAM members at Hobart Service have ratified a new three-year collective agreement, securing important improvements to their wages, benefits and working conditions.
Steven Straub, Hoon Kim and Jamius Alcide from the bargaining committee worked diligently throughout negotiations to secure an agreement that addressed the priorities and demands of the bargaining unit.
The new agreement, which runs from June 29, 2026, to June 28, 2029, includes substantial wage adjustments in the first year, followed by 3% general wage increases in each of the following two years.
Members will also benefit from improved vacation provisions, enhanced health and welfare benefits, the introduction of paid sick days, and other improvements. In addition, the agreement provides for one new steward, strengthening the union’s presence and representation in the workplace.
The membership ratified the agreement on Thursday, August 6, demonstrating their support for the improvements achieved through collective bargaining.
